My green smoothie recipe for hair growth

Posted by Crüe Cosmetics on

Getting off to a good start in the morning sets the tone for our day. For me, a perfect day starts with some form of physical activity with my partner (preferably a mountain hike) followed by a nutritious green smoothie.

Not only does this smoothie taste great, it's packed with vitamins and only adds up to 350 calories! You won't be surprised to learn that I sneaked in several hair growth ingredients to keep my hair thick and silky! Not bad for a multitasking smoothie.

Before continuing, I would like to point out that I am not a doctor and am not in a position to give medical advice. Before trying any new dietary supplements, it is always wise to consult your doctor first. Moreover, I do not receive any form of support of any kind. I'm just sharing with you what I do and what works well for me.

Green smoothie recipe for hair growth and generous vitamin intake:

  • 1 ½ cups cashew milk
  • 10 drops of Biosil
  • ½ teaspoon flaxseed oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Hübner silica gel
  • ½ teaspoon of MSM
  • 1 teaspoon of spirulina
  • 1 tablespoon of chlorella
  • 1 scoop whey protein (I use New Zealand Diesel brand)
  • 1 scoop wheatgrass (I use Amazing Grass brand – lime flavor)
  • 3 cashew nuts

Blend in a blender and drink right away!

Now that I've given you my secret recipe, let's take a look at some of the ingredients and their benefits for your hair.

BIOSIL

I discovered BioSil as a supplement when it was recommended to me by my hairdresser who was using it for her hair regrowth following chemotherapy. Our hair is mostly made of keratin. Most of the amino acids needed by our body to produce keratin are found in collagen. Biosil facilitates the formation of collagen. Our body produces collagen on its own. On the other hand, around the age of 30, its production gradually decreases. It therefore becomes necessary to give our body a boost. Collagen is also a powerful antioxidant that will help protect your hair follicles from free radicals that damage your hair and cause hair loss. On the BioSil website it is reported: “BioSil is clinically proven to increase hair volume by 12.8% and increase hair strength by at least 13.1%. Plus, BioSil provides 'shinier' hair. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of Biosil's numbers. The scientific evidence, however, seems to me to be strong enough to support their claims. My skin and hair are healthier since adding this supplement to the smoothie. BioSil has no color or taste, so you can mix it with any drink.

SILICA GEL

''Original Silicea'' is a colloidal gel made in Germany. In its pure form it can be applied directly to the skin and scalp, but I prefer to add it to my green smoothie and let it work from within. Silica is essentially silicon which is the constituent of our connective tissues. Silicon aids in the synthesis of a complex sugar and amino acid called glycosaminoglycan which is found in our connective tissues along with collagen. Silicon is present in our hair, nails and the outer layer of our skin. A higher silicon content in the hair will lessen hair loss in addition to making it more shiny. Silicon plays a role in improving collagen, which benefits our skeleton and cardiovascular health. I knowingly take silica to keep my hair and skin healthy, while helping my longevity. ''Original Silicea'' is a gel and has no taste or smell.

MSM

Not to be confused with the messaging app, MSM stands for methyl-sulfonyl-methane.

MSM is a sulfur-rich compound and its most popular use is for the relief of joint pain associated with osteoarthritis. MSM is naturally present in a variety of foods, such as green vegetables, garlic, seafood, onions, and milk. Unfortunately, the commercialization of non-organic foods has contaminated our soil and as a result sulphur, along with other nutrients and trace minerals we depend on, are declining at an alarming rate. When it comes to our hair, MSM prolongs the anagen phase of our hair. The anagen phase is the phase where our hair is actively growing before transitioning into the exogenous phase when it falls out to make room for new growth. Extending the anagen phase gives our hair more time to thicken and strengthen. MSM helps our cells eliminate toxins and absorb nutrients and provides oxygen for better detoxification of our body.
